Monday, January 15, 2024 -- Can Chat Based AI (LLM) Provide a Tarot Reading?
Chat based AI technology, formally known as Large Language Model (LLM), entered mainstream adoption in early 2023. As I was initially interacting with OpenAI's ChatGPT, I wondered whether or not it could provide a tarot reading? Further investigation of this question led to some very interesting results. This blog article takes a look at ChatGPT, Google Bard, and Microsoft Copilot. To be clear, I absolutely do not endorse using AI to replace the use of physical tarot and oracle cards, or consulting with experienced human tarot readers. That said, AI does provide a useful and interesting way to obtain supplemental insight via the Tarot. (Continued at jfmanning.blogspot.com)
Saturday, January 13, 2024 -- ChatGPT AI Roleplays/Impersonates Huckleberry Finn
Although this conversation took place nearly a year ago, I think it's still worth sharing now. Most of my past interactions with Large Language Model (LLM) AI occurred in early 2023, and specifically involved using ChatGPT (version 3.5). In this blog post I've highlighted a portion of one of my earliest conversations with ChatGPT. It involved asking the AI to roleplay the fictional character Huckleberry Finn, which was both comical and insightful. I also refer to this occurrence in a my blog entry about using chat based AI for generating tarot readings. (Continued at jfmanning.blogspot.com)
Monday, January 30, 2023 -- The Six of Cups: Girl Gives Boy Flower
I confess--I've done a terrible job with posting regular blog entries. But, I did finally get around to writing my expose of the traditional Rider Waite Smith (RWS) Six of Cups, which everyone thinks depicts a boy giving a girl a cup with a flower in it. I think Pamela Colman Smith intended it the other way around, and it's the girl, who is a gardener, giving the flower to the boy. Yes, this undermines our preconceived masculine/feminine perception that males are always supposed to be the ones giving females flowers. (Continued at jfmanning.blogspot.com)

Thursday, October 6, 2022 -- The King of Pentacles vs The Emperor (IV)
Admittedly, I haven't followed through with my pledge to post at least one new blog entry per week. I knew when I established that goal I was being overly optimistic. Apparently, I needed a break--at least this is what the Universe seems to have indicated. Returning with a refreshed perspective, I decided to compare the King of Pentacles and The Emperor... Tuesday, August 9, 2022 -- A Card for Today - The Empress (III)
Inspired by yesterday's surprising motivation to write a blog entry, I decided to double down with back-to-back entries and pulled a tarot card to serve as the focus for my commentary today.... (Continued at jfmanning.blogspot.com)
Monday, August 8, 2022 -- Minimal Progress... But at Least a Forward Step
UPDATE -- This is basically the first opportunity I've had to return to here since 7/30/22. Changed the home page banner to a Google Sites stock image until I have time to custom create something more appropriate and appealing... (Continued at jfmanning.blogspot.com)
Saturday, July 30, 2022 -- A New Beginning
Hello! If you are here, it's most likely because you have one of my new business cards that I've been handing out. Everything above the Eye of Horus is actually my old website that I finally got around to converting from Google's Classic Sites to their new version of Sites. I didn't want to do this, but I ran out of time to create a new site, and basically had no other choice because it is no longer possible to update Classic Sites. So I figured I needed to at least provide a update. I have a more detailed message posted on my blog at jfmanning.blogspot.com.
If you are here because you're interested in a free readingor the time being the only option is to contact me by email at jay@jfmanning.com. In the near future I plan to have a lot more detail regarding options for readings.
Thanks!
